Accidentally striking an underground utility line can result in serious injury, costly repairs and service interruptions for you and your neighbors. That’s why Tri-County EMC reminds members to always have underground utilities located before beginning any digging project.
At least three business days before you plan to dig, contact 811 to request a utility locate. Utility companies will be notified and will mark the approximate location of underground lines in the project area. Once the lines have been marked, pay close attention to those markings and use extra caution when working nearby.
