This summer, three outstanding local students were granted a unique opportunity to train alongside athletes and coaches from top-ranked college basketball programs. Thanks to Touchstone Energy Sports Camp scholarships—made possible by Tri-County EMC’s ongoing commitment to youth and community—these students experienced a week of learning, leadership, and athletic development.
Savannah Adams, a rising sixth-grade student at Wayne School of Engineering; Peyton Moose, a rising seventh-grade student at Spring Creek Middle; and Cade Flowers, a rising seventh-grade student at Wayne School of Engineering, all reached an exciting milestone this summer. Savannah and Peyton participated in the Wolfpack Women's Basketball Camp at NC State University, while Cade attended the Carolina Basketball School at the University of North Carolina—both led by esteemed head coaches.
“These students are not only talented athletes but also outstanding community members,” said Deidra Grantham, manager of marketing and communications at Tri-County EMC. “We are proud to partner with two of North Carolina’s premier universities to offer this unforgettable opportunity for growth and leadership.”
The students were among more than 50 statewide recipients of electric co-op scholarships who gained invaluable experience by working with top-tier coaches and student-athletes. The camps emphasized the importance of teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth both on and off the court.
These annual Touchstone Energy Sports Camp scholarships reflect Tri-County EMC’s dedication to empowering youth through education and enrichment. Congratulations to Savannah, Peyton, and Cade for earning this honor and representing Tri-County EMC.
