Tri-County EMC recently honored 51 scholarship winners at a floating awards celebration on May 8, 2023 at Tri-County EMC corporate office in Dudley, North Carolina. These recipients were selected by a scholarship selection committee, who evaluated applications based on leadership abilities, community involvement and academic achievement.
Thirty-eight local high school seniors received $500 each towards a four-year college or university of their choice and thirteen students received $250 each towards a community college of their choice.
“Giving back to our local community and youth is part of our mission statement, General Manger of Tri-County EMC. “We’re proud to continue investing in the future of our communities through our scholarship program.”
The Tri-County EMC Scholarship Foundation was established in 2001 to provide area students with the funds necessary to continue their education goals. Since it was founded, the fund has awarded more than $460,000 in scholarships to area students.
