Tri-County EMC Continues to Monitor Approaching Winter Storm

Tri-County EMC is closely monitoring a winter storm forecasted to impact our service area beginning Saturday afternoon and continuing into Sunday. This system has the potential to become a significant winter weather event, bringing hazardous travel conditions and possible power outages due to a mix of sleet, snow, and freezing rain. Temperatures are expected to remain near freezing through the weekend and into the following days, increasing the likelihood of ice accumulation and service interruptions.

Tri-County EMC crews are prepared to respond. The cooperative maintains a full inventory of poles, transformers, and other essential equipment, and personnel are coordinating with suppliers should additional materials be required.

In the event of an outage, crews will begin restoration efforts as soon as weather and road conditions allow. For everyone’s safety, members are encouraged to stay off roadways until the storm has fully passed so emergency responders and utility crews can work safely.

Our call center will remain available 24/7. Members are encouraged to report outages by calling 919-735-2611 or by visiting www.tcemc.com.
