Tri-County EMC continued its long-standing commitment to education by awarding scholarships to 68 local students during a floating ceremony held May 4, 2026, at its corporate office in Dudley, North Carolina. This year’s program distributed a total of $41,800 to help students take the next step in their academic journeys.
The scholarship program recognizes students who demonstrate strong academic performance, leadership abilities, and a dedication to serving their communities. Awards were distributed across multiple categories to support a variety of educational paths.
Among the recipients, 49 students were awarded $750 scholarships to attend four-year colleges or universities, while 17 students received $250 scholarships to pursue degrees at community colleges. In addition, two non-traditional students were each awarded $400 to support their continued education.
Tri-County EMC General Manager Mike Davis highlighted the importance of supporting students as they prepare for the future.
“Education is one of the most meaningful investments we can make,” Davis said. “These students represent the future of our communities, and we are proud to support them as they work toward their goals.”
Since launching the scholarship program in 2001, Tri-County EMC has awarded more than $594,000 to students across its service area. The program reflects the cooperative’s ongoing mission to give back and strengthen the communities it serves.
Tri-County EMC congratulates the 2026 scholarship recipients and looks forward to seeing the impact they will make in the years ahead.
