Tri-County EMC Launches New Connect to Save Program

Tri-County EMC is excited to announce Connect to Save as a new program to help residential members use energy smarter and more efficiently.By participating in Connect to Save’s smart thermostat installation program, you'll receive a new smart thermostat for your home, plus earn $50 per year per device (up to $100 each year) for allowing your co-op to minimally adjust the temperature during periods of high demand for electricity. These small actions multiplied across thousands of homes can mean big savings on wholesale power posts and more reliable power for our community.

How does it work?

Just like the roads at rush hour, the electric grid experiences moments of high traffic, or demand. Following the principles of supply and demand, electricity is most expensive when demand is greatest.

Connect to Save helps minimize strain on the grid by managing the energy use of enrolled smart thermostats and water heater devices on select days when electric demand is high. After your new thermostat is installed, Connect to Save will make small adjustments to your settings during periods of high electricity demand.

In addition to smart thermostats, members enrolled in Connect to Save can increase their positive impact by adding their electric water heater to the program. This option is free to participants and nearly undetectable for the residents of the home – plus you’ll receive an additional one-time $50 reward.

What are the benefits?

Program enrollees receive a deeply discounted smart thermostat with free, professional installation, plus an annual reward of $50 per year per device (up to $100 each year). You also make a meaningful contribution toward reliable power for your community.

Act quickly: Tri-County EMC is offering a free Google Nest smart thermostat for members who enroll by December 31
